How
should we send the needed information?
- Information can be sent to us many ways. The information
can be sent via electronic downloads, mail, fax, courier service, common
carrier, or e-mail (you must be able to send encrypted-mails)
How often should we send you information?
- Information can be sent as often as you like but
we do recommend a weekly submission at the very least.
What kind of information do you need in order to submit claims
on our behalf ?
- A superbill containing all CPT and ICD-9 codes and
any modifiers.
- A patient information sheet containing all the patients
demographics
- A copy of the front and back of the patient's insurance
card.
- Referring physician ID if necessary
Can you submit electronic claims to all insurance companies?
- Most commercial insurance companies, as well as
Medicare, Medicaid and BC/BS, accept electronic claims.
However, there are still some companies that are not set
up to receive electronic submissions. In these cases the
claim will be sent on paper.
Who does the follow up on the claims?
- We follow up on all claims that we submit on behalf
of your practice.
Where do my reimbursements go?
- Reimbursements can either be sent directly to your
Practice or we can receive the payment and then forward
it to you.
Is New England Medical Billing HIPAA Compliant?
- Fully! HIPAA is a critical subject, which we
take seriously. We have taken great efforts in developing
a compliance plan with computer password protection, encrypted
emails, locked cabinets, secured fax, onsite shredding as well as
keeping our employees educated on HIPAA compliant practices.
Will I need to purchase any software?
- No. New England
Medical Billing has all the software needed to automate
your office. You are not required to purchase any billing
software while you are using our services.
